June 17, 2019 … ADL (the Anti-Defamation League), Pacific Northwest Region released the following statement today in response to the recent anti-Semitic threats made against Seattle City Council District 2 Candidate Ari Hoffman:

We are disturbed by the recent threats made on 8chan against Seattle City Council District 2 candidate Ari Hoffman. Hate, bigotry, and anti-Semitism have no place in our democratic elections and candidates should be evaluated based on merit.

We have spoken with the candidate, his campaign staff, and with local community leaders and ADL’s Center on Extremism is actively monitoring the situation. In addition, ADL has reached out to the Seattle Police Department and FBI to assist as a resource in any way we can.

As a 501c3 nonprofit organization, ADL takes no position on behalf of or in opposition to any candidate for office.
